Memoirs of Haiti

Momma's Got You in the Church Now
A tribute to Eleanor Workman, the founder of Christian Haitian Outreach

Eleanor was like a spiritual mom to me, and I would not be in Haiti except for her. I bless God for the spiritual strength and love she gave me, I am grateful to her for introducing me to the beautiful people of Haiti, and I cherish the memories of the time I spent with her.

Note: I wrote this narrative in 2005 in honor of Mom (Eleanor) Workman, founder of Christian Haitian Outreach.

Claudel Senat composed the background music for the song. Claudel was the music pastor at Mission of Hope, Haiti, which is about 45 minutes north of Port-au-Prince. I had been impressed with his Claudel's piano playing when I met him in the states, so when I was in Haiti, so I asked him if he would be able to create some background music for my narrative. He said he would and we went to his office in the church, which was already equipped with the necessary recording equipment. Within an hour after I had recited the narrative, he had created the background music and had uploaded it on a CD. What an incredibly gifted young man!
