Gospel for Haiti

Haiti Share's First Mission Trip was held August 31-Sept 4, 2016 in Grand Goave. Ten young Haitians shared the Gospel in the town of Grand Goave, at the invitation of a pastor there.

2015 Leadership Conference

2015 Bible Day Camp

Dates: August 24-28, 2015
Location: Saint Louis du Sud, Haiti (near Les Cayes)
Topic: Helping children receive Jesus as their Savior and Friend

Bible camp teachersOur team trainees arrived home safely, after a wonderful week at camp. There were 60 volunteer workers, including workers from the host church as well as friends of Haiti Share who came with the team. They ended the week with 500 children, including the children in the orphanage where they stayed at night.  Many children received Jesus during the week, and the children were begging the team to stay another week.  Thank you so much for all your prayers and your sponsorships of these children!

Haiti Share advisory board member and his wife died in a head-on collision

The funeral of Pastor Ty Schenzel, the founder of the Hope Center, an after school program in the inner city of Omaha, and his wife Terri, was held August 26, with more than 3,000 in attendance and an estimated 13,000 more watching the live streaming webcast. Through the awesome tribute of their children, the world is privileged to see deep into the hearts of two people with an incredible love for God, for each other, for their children and for everyone they knew.

On June 4, Betty Harmsen taught the weekly leadership training course for our new students. On June 5 she taught the computer class some ways to use the Internet to Learn English
and that evening, she spoke to ladies in the community on The Entrepreneurial Woman as depicted in Proverbs 31.

May 2, 2015: Haiti Share sponsored a seminar on evangelism, led by the Bible League of Haiti. Fifty people participated.

Leadership Training

In April, 2015 a six month weekly leadership training course was started for six new sponsorees, taught by Raymond F. Excellent

The 2015 training retreat was held on Feburary 15 - 17, 2015 at Villa ORMISO, Carrefour, Haiti. There were 25 young leaders in attendence, including the young adults in our sponsorship program and and several other young people who help with the team projects.

Annual Children's Christmas Party

Haiti Share held its annual Children's Christmas party on Dec. 21 in Carrefour, Haiti for around 200 children. The children in the Junior Haiti Share program provided entertainment and the good news of Jesus.

Texas Hearts for Haiti sold many beautifully hand-crafted items, including crocheted necklaces, Christmas tree decorations (angels, snowflakes and bells), baby dresses, hats for young girls and many, many other items at the.� Annual Bayside Bazaar held on Nov. 8 in Horseshoe Bay, TX.

 

Nov. 1, 2014: Annual Haiti Share Leadership Conference

Well over 500 young adults attended the 6th Annual Haiti Share Leadership Conference on Nov. 1, 2014, which was held at the Christian Haitian Outreach church in Mariani, Carrefour, Haiti. The speaker, Dr. Lesly Jules; Owner and Executive Coach, CSL-Consulting, did an outstanding job, as testified to by many of the attendees after the conference.

Eighth Annual Bible Day Camp

Dates: Aug 25 - 29, 2014

mountains at Bible campOur camp was held in the mountains south of Leogane. The children, who numbered around 450, came from miles around, some of them walking along the mountain ridge for 2 hours each way, even when it was raining and VERY muddy. Our leadership team also held evening services each night for the community. Our theme this year was "Children can serve God with integrity." The teachers did an excellent job and the children were very attentive. The best camp ever!

Two visitors from Canada spent Saturday, April 11, 2014, with the children in our Junior Haiti Share program, teaching them and providing activities for them.

 



The Moringa Tree: A "miracle" tree

moringa treesCheryl Terris from Vancouver gave a presentation on the moringa tree to the team and other members of the community on May 26, 2014. A few days earlier, Cheryl gave a talk at a three-day conference held on the moringa tree, held at Saint Marc in the Artibonite, the main agricultural district of the town for 2,000 people. She invited Raymond to attend as her guest.

Cheryl works with Dr. Franco Jean Louis of Go Haiti, who also spoke at the forum. (The photo shows some of the 200 moringa trees on Go Haiti's property.) Raymond said the forum also emphasized the need to plant trees rather than cutting them down. "The L'Artibonite department will die," he said, "if we keep cutting down our trees."


children's talent show Monthly Talent Shows for Neighborhood Children

Starting in April 2014 around 150 neighborhood children are participated in Haiti Share's monthly talent shows. This is in addition to the regular Saturday classes for the 50 children in the Junior Haiti Share program. Our team plans to hold these talent shows once a month as a way to reach out to more children in the community, and to help them develop their talents and increase their confidence in their abilities.

2014 Training Retreat

The 2014 Haiti Share Training Retreat was held March 2-4, 2014 in Delma, Haiti, with 20 people in attendence, including the Haiti Share team members and several other young Haitians. The theme was "Integrity is your Lifeblood."Topics included personal integrity, relationship trust, integrity in business and organizational trust. The attendees are already starting to share the lessons informally with children and young adults in their community.


Haiti Share Fifth Annual Leadership Conference

Our fifth annual leadership conference was held on November 1, 2013. Around 500 young leaders attended the conference, which was held at Centre de Reveil de Mariani, CHO, Carrefour, Haiti. The speaker was Dr. Julio Volcy, Executive Director of Teen Challenge/Haiti and founder of Hope Outreach International. The topic was "The Challenge of Change."


Radio Lumiere holds a one hour interview with Haiti Share representatives.

On Oct. 29, 2013 Radio Lumiere, a Christian radio station in Haiti with a listening audience of hundreds of thousands, even millions, of Creole speaking people throughout the world, held a one hour interview with Haiti Share representatives. Topics included the upcoming leadership conference, other Haiti Share programs and the Haiti Share vision.


August 26-30, 2013

video Our 2013 Bible Day Camp was held at Centre de Reveil de Mariani, CHO, Carrefour, Haiti. Our team of trainees did an excellent job of handling the logistics of the Bible camp, especially considering that we started the week with 700 children and ended with 1,200. The worship service for the children on Friday was awesome.

We were also able to bless the community on the last day of the camp by feeding 300 adults with the food supplies that were left over from the week.

We thank all of you for your prayers and for your sponsorships, without which we could not hold our camps. We especially thank our three visitors from local Texas churches, whose presence meant so much to our team, as did their help with the preschoolers at our camp.

August 22, 2013

Radio Lumiere, the Haitian Evangelical Cultural Network, which has a listening audience of hundreds of thousands of Haitians worldwide, held a one hour interview with our director of Haitian operations and another member of our leadership team. The topic was Haiti Share's vision, "from dependency to leadership by the grace of God," and the programs it has developed to support that vision.


July 5, 2013

Haiti Share hosted Cheryl Terris from British Columbia at a seminar held at the Haiti Share training center. Ms. Terris described the healing and nutritional properties of the Moringa Tree to 100 members of the community.

The Haiti Share leadership team celebrated the sixth anniversary of Haiti Share by hosting 280 members of the community to explain Haiti Share's vision and share a celebratory meal with them.

Feb. 10-12, 2013

The sixth annual Haiti Share training retreat was held at the Wall Guest House. Betty Jean Harmsen was the speaker and the topic was "Walk in the Light: Two great truths that will enable us to take the triple challenge." During the retreat, Betty shared the life story of Dr Benjamin Carson, as documented in the "Gifted Hands" DVD (with French subtitles), his books, and the YouTube video of his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast on February 7, 2013. Christmas party Annual Christmas party for children in the community

On December 30, 2012:180 neighborhood children and youth gathered in the back yard of the Haiti Share training center to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The young women on our team prepared a delicious meal for them, and the children in our Junior Haiti Share program entertained everyone, sharing the good news of Jesus with skits, dancing and singing.

November 1, 2012: Fourth Annual Haiti Share Leadership Conference

400 young leaders and potential leaders attended our 2012 leadership conference, held at Mariani Centre de Reveil in Carrefour, Haiti. The speaker was Rev. Monix Mathieu, a native Haitian residinig in Atlanta, Georgia. Rev. Mathieu has a master's degree in Biblical counseling.

August 6 to 10, 2012,

The 2012 Bible Day Camp was held in Merge, Haiti at the Foundation of Zion, located in a mountainside community about 30 miles west of Port-au-Prince. Around 700 children attended this camp.

On April 6-8 2012, the 4th Annual Team Training Retreat was held at Orisma Villa. The topics were "The Cost of Compromise" and "Biblical Principles of Economics"

On April 18, 2012, Save the Children , an International organization specializing in protecting children from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence, used our facilities for a children's program.


In February, 2012, a new series on the life and work of J.C. Penney was started. The stories are archived on this website.

All year: Saturday classes for 25 neighborhood children

On December 25, 2011, the Haiti Share team put on a Christmas Partyfor 90 children.

On November 1, 2011, Haiti Share held its 3rd annual Leadership Conference in Carrefour, Haiti. More than 500 young leaders from the surrounding area attended this all day conference, which was planned and executed by the Haiti Share Leadership team. Evangelist Mesak Dieudonne, a native Haitian living in Brandenton, FL. spoke on Christian Leadership.

On July 18-22, 2011, Haiti Share's 5th annual Bible Day Camp was held in Jacmel Haiti for 500 children.

On April 26, 2011, Save the Children held a 3-hour workshop on preventing child abuse using Haiti Share's seminar room.

On April 22-24, 2011m Haiti Share held its 4th Annual Team Training Retreat on the topic "The Eternal Logos."

On February 5, 2011, the Haiti Share team held a small group seminar for 20 people on "Community Development." The speaker was Dr. Julio Volcy of Hope Outreach International.

On January 10, 2011, the The Haiti Share Team delivered 24 water filtration systems to families in Petite Reviere,in the Artibonite region.

On December 16, 2010, the Haiti Share team put on a Christmas Party for 90 children.

On November 25, 2010, Haiti Share provided water filtration systems for 30 families at risk in Gonaives

On Nov. 6, 2010, four new team members were enrolled in the Haiti Share team.
